Nurturing a Respectful and Constructive Community Space

Chat Guidelines

When in the Orion Community chat, each person agrees to abide by the following guidelines to make sure everyone is respectful to each other and the Orion team. Orion admins may remove members if they don’t follow our etiquette:

• Please be respectful to everyone in the Orion chat and be friendly and polite at all times.

• Keep it clean, so avoid using foul language or masking those words.

• Members should not harass, abuse or threaten other members or the Orion admin.

• Talk of illegal activities, such as hacking, gang activities and drug use should not be used.

• Racism or discriminatory inflammatory behavior won’t be tolerated.

• Sexual chat which could offend others isn’t allowed.

• Spamming irrelevant information or promoting other projects unnecessarily is not tolerated.

• There will be no posting of links or wallet addresses into chat, using multiple accounts to provoke, or impersonate other people.

Individuals who continuously post negative comments in chat or persistently abuse these guidelines will be removed. We are all here to interact courteously with a good level of positive discussion, so please respect this and make the Orion chat a pleasant place for everyone.

Moderation Guidelines

• Purpose & Transition: Our community is a space for constructive dialogue, support, and growth. We aim to foster a positive and understanding environment for all members. Orion is in the process of transitioning towards becoming a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), emphasizing collective decision-making and community involvement.

• Non-Constructive Negative Comments: Any comments that are negative without providing constructive feedback will result in an instant ban. Examples include baseless accusations, repetitive complaints without context, or unsupported claims.

• Encourage Constructive Criticism: We value feedback that helps us grow and improve. Constructive criticism is welcome, but it should be presented in a respectful and detailed manner. Questions like "Have you considered X feature?" or "I believe Y could be improved by..." are encouraged.

• Zero Tolerance for Toxicity & Harassment: Any form of toxicity, including personal attacks, hate speech, excessive profanity, or harassment, will result in an immediate ban. Comments directed specifically at individual team members are not tolerated and should liberally be considered as harassment. Orion operates as a collective team, and we will not tolerate attacks on individuals.

• Stay On Topic: Ensure discussions remain relevant to the platform, its features, and related topics. Off-topic conversations may be redirected or removed.

• No Spam: Posting repetitive messages, advertisements, or irrelevant links is prohibited and should result in a ban.

• Respect Privacy: Do not share personal information of yourself or others. This includes addresses, phone numbers, emails, or any other private data.

• Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else, especially a team member or another community member, is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate ban.

• Report & Escalate: If you're unsure about a particular situation or comment, please report it to the senior moderation team or community managers for further guidance.

• Continuous Learning: Moderators should regularly communicate with each other to share insights, challenges, and best practices. This ensures consistency in moderation across the community.

By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to create a community that is supportive, understanding, and focused on collective growth.
